Adrian Treves, Francisco J. Santiago-Ávila, and William S. Lynn, Just preservation

Abstract

Treves et al.’s proposal is welcome, but it will have to face at least four challenges: the interconnectedness of the human and the nonhuman portions of the biosphere, conflicts of interest, human overpopulation, and capitalism itself.

Helen Tiffin is Honorary Professor of English and Animal Studies at University of Wollongong and Fellow of the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society.
